I am a grandma of 5 beautiful granddaughters who love jewelry and jewelry boxes. Each time I see them, they constantly play with my necklaces, rings, and bracelets. After they are done playing with the jewelry I am actually wearing they run directly to my bedroom dresser and look up at me with those big blue eyes and tilting their heads say, “Please can we play with your jewelry in your beautiful jewelry box? Grandma, when I get bigger can I have a big girl jewelry box just like yours?” I smile at them and tell them of course and there is nothing better in the world than seeing those smiles.

I wanted to get my twin granddaughters, who were turning five years old, something special for their birthday. It had to be something they could treasure and keep for many years to come.. On the day before their actual birthday I sat them down and told them that Grandma had an extremely special gift for them for their birthday. They each sat waiting in anticipation. You should have seen them. I can still remember the squirming each of them was doing in their seats. It still makes me smile and giggle thinking about it. Each of my granddaughters sat fidgeting and sitting as still as possible as only a five year old can sit when they are waiting for a birthday present. I reminded them of how just two months ago they had each expressed to me that they wanted their very own jewelry boxes. They gasped in anticipation as to what they were about to receive from their grandma. I then handed the Princess wrapped gifts to the girls. They each sat back to back as that is the rule when they are opening gifts that are the same so that the surprise is not ruined for the person who opens last. They each patiently waited and took their turns opening the gifts. The “oldest” went first and a huge scream and she had to be reminded that she is not allowed to say what it is. Then, my granddaughter who is a whole three minutes younger opened hers. As each of the girls turned around, they smiled at each other and said things such as look what I got, No you look what grandma got for me. You might not have known that they were the exact same gift. They were so excited looking over each sister’s new jewelry box and then looking at her own and showing her sister. I could not have asked for a better reaction to the gift jewelry boxes.

Different types of ornamentation work are used to decorate jewelry boxes for women. Women love their trinket box as much as they love its contents. Most of these boxes have the most grand and exquisite design work done on them.

There are boxes decorated with shells of different color and shapes. The long shells are neatly placed on top of the lid of the box in a circular design, and within the design a lovely pattern of a flower is filled with other types of shells. The colorful shells are very pleasant to look at.

The verdict is out: All women young and old love jewelry! It’s therefore not surprising that there are also many jewelry boxes for women to safely store their trinkets. From a very tender age, girls like to collect and keep their precious keepsakes and thingamabobs in a special box.

Little girls would often receive gifts of cute necklaces, bracelets, or a pair of earrings with unusual designs. They would then store these items in colorful musical boxes that usually had a ballerina or figurine spinning round and round when you opened the lid. More often than not, little girls’ jewelry boxes had an image of a cartoon character like Cinderella or Ariel, the Little Mermaid.
